Madeline Thoralley, also known by the name of her brand Hurtence, is the maverick milliner creating off-kilter headwear for those wanting to introduce a little theatre to their lives. The 27-year-old works from her home studio in Honor Oak. Taking inspiration from the things she finds in charity shops, she cites Alexander McQueen and the "weird energy" of Peter Doig.
